Scott C, that's C for Campbell, follows up "Amazing Everything" with this wonderful study of cinemas celebrated confrontations. It being Scott there are a few surprises, sure you get Ripley squaring up with Aliens but you'll also come across Gene Kelly and a lamp post!
Fabulous film fun from this talented and original designer for the game industry!

Half the fun with Scott's book is deducing who or what he's depicting and from which film, that's also true of this next book, but buyer beware there are no keys to tell you if your hunches are correct or nonsense!

SILHOUETTES FROM POPULAR CULTURE BY OLLY MOSS
HC 144pp Black + White
Titan Books
So Olly Moss delivers a veritable Hollywood Hall of Fame in Silhouettes. Fan favorite characters from both sides of the pond and from the small and big screens present their profiles for your perusal at Olly's command.

GEORGE R R MARTIN LANDS OF ICE & FIRE
16 Maps in Wallet
Bantam Maps
Twelve gorgeously illustrated maps by Johnathen Roberts bring the scale and scope of Martin's celebrated fantasy creation into sharp relief.
All the major countries and territories from the novels as well as city plans for King's Landing and Bravos are represented as well as a guide to the journeys under taken by the principal characters.

So that's what has arrived from over there, so now let's see what's new from over here.

LES CONTES DE L'ERE DU COBRA # 2
HC 48pp Color
Glenat
The second and final installment in Enrique Fernandez' incredible fantasy tale, illustrated in his unique style and inspired by the pageantry and passion of the Arabian Nights and Bollywood!

One of the most respected writers in BD, Jean Dufaux, releases the first chapter in his latest opus, illustrated by two inspired Italians, the legendary Paolo Serperie and the extraordinary Riccardo Federici.
Cardinals, demons and a plucky heroine plot and intrigue their way way through a steam punk Venice in Saria volumes 1 and 2.

HC # 1 = 64pp, # 2 = 56pp Color
Delcourt

Again with the devious cardinals but this time in 18th century Rome as the popular hero, Scorpion makes a welcome returns for more daring do in the tenth collaboration from dependable writer Desberg and dashing artist Marini.

HC 48pp Color available in 2 covers
Dargaud

From one of our favorite artists in the comic medium to some of the most respected and accomplished artists in any medium as Gradimir Smudja sends his daughter, Ivana, back in time with the cat Vincent to encounter the greats of European art.
The first in a two volume story arc, which mixes humor with high culture and which crosses time and the continent, begins with an inspired dauber of the stone age in the Lascaux grotto of central France and concludes with Ivana hidden under Louis XIV's table.

AU FIL DE L'ART
HC 96pp Color
Delcourt

We stay in the company of geniuses even if they are of the whacked out sort, to announce another one of those deluxe editions perfect for a holiday gift.
Moebius and Jodorowsky present the premiere part of their classic story of science fiction and mysticism, in a new over sized edition, 30 x 40 cm, with thankfully the restored color.

HC 53pp Color Limited & Numbered
Humanoides

Comix BUro have released these four new titles in their popular series of sketch books, each book runs to 48pp and features color and black and white works in various stages of completion.

Two of the books follow on from previous successful editions for French good girl artist Bellamy and animator and good girl artist American Dean Yeagle; the new boys on the block are Begal's brother Grelin and American artist Mike Hawthorne whose work on Ankam's adaptation of Stefan Wul's Oms En Série has garnered good reviews.

Finally to a book from an individual who has dedicated his professional life to tirelessly promoting the medium of comics, as both a source of entertainment and an art form.
Given his many years in the business, in which time he's guided editorial teams at Semic to now being in charge of the translated American titles from Delcourt, one would expect Thierry Mornet to know a lot about comics but the real question is, given his work load, where did he find the time to put this extensive knowledge into a book?

LES INISPENSABLES DE LA BD AMERICAINE!
SC 224pp Color, Black + White
Huginn & Muninn
The difference with this guide to others is the sheer expanse of the coverage, it's as good a guide to what's been released in the US that really matters, as any to be published either side of the Atlantic.
Other guides are about specific segments of the market, periods, genres, labels and categories basically.
Thierry has never been a comic snob, he likes to be entertained, as an editor he has an obligation to his employers to select commercially viable books for translation and publication.
So this books runs from the high brow critically acclaimed comics of Dan Clowes and Alan Moore, to the crowd pleasing comics of Gilbert Sheldon and Jim Lee.
It packs in a wealth of info, about the creators, their characters, the publishers of the project on either side of the "Pond" and the creative collaborations and all accompanied with glorious illustrations from the titles under consideration.
Encyclopedic and entertaining this book is a fan's must have, certain to be dubbed the "comic nerd's bible" by someone other than me!
